OMG OMG OMG OMG, It’s finally happening! I’m going to New York!
Had to wake up at 5 o’clock in the morning because my flight began at 09:30 am. My boyfriend drove me and it was sad to not see him for 1 week and the cats for a whole month! I’m so glad that we have sweet people living in our home when we’re away so that the cats don’t miss out on all the hugging.
So the flight was about 7,5 hours and I was really anxious about how I would spend those hours and not be bored but it was actually not bad! You had a screen in front of you and you could watch movies and series and even play games! And food and drinks we’re coming all the time.
When I arrived at the JFK airport in New York, I had to wait in line for an hour and a half before I could get my bags. They got your fingerprints and there we’re a lot of people waiting. After that my internet wouldn’t work and I had to get an Uber Cap, so I was stressing out haha!
Finally I got a cap for about 35 dollars (really, you should download the Uber App!) and the taxi driver showed me around the city. He was from China and moved here with his parents, a couple of years ago. At first he didn’t want to go to New York because all of his friends we’re in China but after a year he had the same feeling as I had when I saw New York City.
We found the apartment, I’m staying at an Airbnb address for 2 weeks because it’s way more cheaper. He helped me with my bag and I finally could sit for a moment. But not too long because I was hungry. It was about 4 p.m. in New York but in my hometown it’s 6 hours later so it felt like it was bedtime for me haha. My roommate wasn’t there yet, but I did have another sweet roommate who was by my feet all the time!
I picked up a really good Beef Sandwich at the deli and something to drink and after that I was really tired. At 6 p.m. (12 am in Dutch time) I closed my eyes. Ready for the next day to come!
So, right now it’s 08:18 am and I’m getting ready for my first day in New York City baby!!!! Stay tuned!
